
This comment came amid media reports about a possible arms supply from Beijing. In particular, CNN reported that according to American intelligence services, China intends to transfer new air defense systems to Iran in the coming weeks. US President Donald Trump has threatened China with “serious problems” if it supplies weapons to Iran.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry was outraged by the accusations, which, according to the department, have no evidence.
“China strictly controls military exports and abides by international regulations. We reject the baseless accusations,” Jiakun said.
The Chinese side reaffirmed the maintenance of stability in the Middle East and called on all parties to avoid steps that could lead to further escalation of tension in the region.
