Most Russians are ready to have a humanoid robot in their home

About 70% of Russians are ready to place a humanoid robot in their home to perform household tasks (cleaning, cooking, care). These data were obtained during a survey* conducted VTB in February 2026.
The bank presented such data during the conference on AI technologies and data analysis Data Fusion (Data Fusion).
Survey participants correctly identify the main areas of application of big data, but find it difficult to define the term. Only 20% of respondents can confidently explain what Big Data is. 47% associate them with analysis of consumer behavior and personalization of services, 40% with scientific research, 35% with forecasting (weather, traffic, epidemics), 34% with automation of business and government services.
Despite this, Russians are actively involved in the digital environment: 63% daily use search engines or services based on artificial intelligence (AI), 62% use bank cards or mobile applications (there were no respondents who never use financial services), 54% visit the State Services portal at least once a month.

The readiness to integrate AI into everyday life is evident in other aspects as well. About half of the respondents note the impact of AI services on cognitive skills (memory, attention, thinking): for 32% this impact is positive, for 17% it is negative. Concerns about job loss due to AI are moderate: 25% fear that AI could replace them in the next 5-10 years, while only 7% have personally experienced such cases, another 21% have heard of similar examples.
In general, compatriots are satisfied with the personalization of services (66% are somewhat or completely satisfied), but at the same time they are in no hurry to delegate financial decision-making to AI. Only 10% of respondents are willing to trust financial advice from AI, while recommendations from living consultants and acquaintances are more trusted. A quarter of respondents do not trust anyone.
“User behavior develops faster than knowledge: first people start using services, and only then try to figure out how they work. This approach creates a risk of manipulation and reduces the level of conscious technology consumption“- noted the Deputy President-Chairman of the Board VTB Vadim Kulik.
The survey was conducted in February 2026 in cities with a population of over 100 thousand people. 1.5 thousand respondents aged 18-65 took part in it.
