“The Polish Football Federation received with deep sadness and immense regret the news of the death of Jacek Magiera, the second coach of the Polish national team. We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.

At the same time, we ask that the privacy and tranquility of your loved ones be respected during this extremely difficult time“, the Federation sent.

The president of the Polish Federation, Cezary Kulesza, also sent a message of condolences: “It is with great sadness and disbelief that we received the news of Jacek Magiera's death. It is difficult to find the right words in the face of such a sudden and completely unexpected loss.

Jacek was an exceptional footballer, an excellent coach, but above all a very good man you could always rely on. I want to send my condolences to the family and loved ones. At the same time, I call on the media and all journalists to respect the privacy of the grieving family”.

Magiera spent his coaching career in Poland and led Legia Warsaw to their Champions League campaign in the 2016-17 season.

Magiera also coached Zaglebie Sosnowiec, Slask Wroclaw and Poland's youth teams throughout his career. As a player, he played for teams such as Rakow Czestochowa, Legia Warsaw and Krakow.
