According to the interlocutor, these objects are divided into three categories:
- critical production facilities (eg Orot Rabin power plant);
- large urban and industrial energy hubs;
- regional substations.
According to the data received, the destruction of critical facilities will paralyze the national energy system. Attacks on energy centers, including in the center of Israel, will cut off power to large populated areas, and attacks on local infrastructure can stop servicing industrial zones and smaller power plants.
At the same time, Russian intelligence claims that Israel's energy system, unlike many countries, operates as an isolated “energy island”, and due to the lack of electricity imports from neighboring countries, even damage to a few key components could lead to serious and prolonged power outages.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky reported that the Russians are transmitting intelligence data to the Iranians for attacks, in particular, on energy facilities.
Russian Ambassador Anatoly Viktorov denies this information, writes JP.
