Things Dynamo Dresden – Hertha (0-1), from the second German league, was marked by incidents caused by fans in the stands and on the pitch.

Right in the 3rd minute of the match, the match was interrupted due to the smoke emitted by the fireworks launched from the stands. But it was only the beginning of an incendiary evening.

Later, a Hertha flag was displayed in Dynamo's K-block. The local fans then indulged in offensive chants and the opposing ultras lost their tempers. They entered the pitch and started throwing flares into the stands where there were many local supporters.

Violent clashes on the ground, ended by the intervention of the police

The next? The players immediately disappeared into the locker room and from the aforementioned K block, about 100 Dynamo hooligans invaded the field and rushed to the half where about 30 opponents were. A violent confrontation ensued, for almost a minute, until law enforcement intervened energetically and put the belligerents to flight.

The match was stopped a second time for 20 minutes

The next challenge? In sector K, the flag stolen from Hertha was set on fire. Only 20 minutes after the game was stopped, “central” Sven Jablonski could resume it. Then, at half-time, the entire quota of fans from Berlin left the stadium.

After the break, some football was played. Hertha remained behind in the 66th minute after Brekalo was sent off. However, he managed to hold on and strike in the 80th minute through Martin Winkler's goal.

Officials of the two clubs apologized: “These are scenes not related to football”

But in the end they talked about the incidents. “This is not what we wanted to see. It was a complete failure. This is not what we are fighting for,” said the Dresden club's general manager Stephan Zimmermann.

His Hertha counterpart Peter Gorlich pointed out: “These are scenes that have nothing to do with football. I can only apologize to everyone involved here at the stadium. What happened does not correspond to my values“.
