The Kremlin responded to Zelensky’s proposal for a truce for Easter

“He, as always, spoke about his readiness and desire to agree to a truce, even some kind of truce, even an Easter one. That’s what President Zelensky was talking about,” Peskov told reporters.

He claims that the Russian occupiers are allegedly moving forward at the front, so Ukraine needs “any kind of truce.”

According to Peskov, Zelensky must “make appropriate decisions so that we reach peace, not a truce.”

Context

On March 30, Zelensky, during a conversation with journalists, said that Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire during the Easter holidays and for an energy truce, writes Ukrayinska Pravda. “We are ready for any compromises, except compromises with our dignity and sovereignty,” the president said.
