Messages from Patriarch Daniel and Archbishop Bercă
The Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church referred, on Wednesday, to the end of the sermon dedicated to the celebration of the Annunciation, to the March for Life and emphasized that this action promotes in society the inestimable value of human life as a gift from God.
“For several years, in Romania, a month of prayer and advice has been organized in March to protect the lives of children, and in particular the March for Life is organized (…). Through this activity, the birth of children is encouraged, helping families and young girls who are pregnant, helping all those who love life as a gift from God, because the person who is born on earth becomes not only a citizen of the earthly homeland, but, if he lives a life of holiness according to your will of God, he can also become a citizen of Heaven, of the Kingdom of Heaven”, affirmed His Beatitude.
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Bucharest supports this year the March for Life, the largest pro-life event in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, now in its 16th edition.
“The month of March is, like every year, a time dedicated to the promotion and defense of life. The 'Month for Life' campaign calls us to unite our voices and prayers to testify that human life is sacred from the first moment of its existence and that every woman and every child deserves to be greeted with care and real support. The theme proposed by the organizers for this year, 'Solidarity for both', reminds us that Christian solidarity is a concrete responsibility towards the mother in difficulty and with her child”, emphasized the Roman Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop of Bucharest, Aurel Percă, recently.
