Three people were convicted of defrauding 57 shareholders in Krasnoyarsk (video)

March 27 7:07

The court recognized two residents of Moscow and a resident of Krasnoyarsk guilty of fraud in the shared construction of an apartment building in Pokrovka.

It was established that in 2013, a then 34-year-old Krasnoyarsk resident and his friend bought a plot of land on 3rd Dalnevostochnaya Street. Then the accomplices received permission to build an individual residential building.

“However, in reality, the men illegally erected a three-story building on the allocated territory and divided it into 57 residential premises. Next, under the guise of a separate studio apartment in a “prestigious new building,” they sold a share in the house to buyers. Due to the inconsistency of the purpose of the land, registration of the right to the room was impossible. Soon two more women joined them. They helped their accomplices in advertising “cheap apartments,” finding buyers, drawing up contracts, as well as in other accounting matters that created the illusion of legality for the crime,” the prosecutor’s office said.

As a result, in a three-story apartment building built on 3rd Dalnevostochnaya Street, the accomplices sold apartments to 57 Krasnoyarsk residents for a total amount of more than 53 million rubles. In 2021, this house was declared an unauthorized structure and subject to demolition.

According to Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by an organized group, on an especially large scale), the court sentenced two Muscovites to 5 and 6 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony, and the Krasnoyarsk man to 3 years of suspended imprisonment. In addition, the amount of damage caused to the buyers was recovered from the accomplices, the Investigative Committee reported.
