Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall (21) was a teammate of Porto's Thiago Silva (41, centre-back) during their time at Chelsea. The young man did not forget what the Brazilian defender helped him with.
Lewis Hall left Chelsea for Newcastle in the 2023-24 season, initially on loan. In London, the left-back, one of the young talents promoted to Chelsea's senior team, shared the dressing room with Thiago Silva, the experienced centre-back who recently signed for FC Porto.
Lewis Hall: “Thiago Silva was always willing to help me progress”
“Even though he didn't speak much English, he was very kind to me and always willing to help me progress. He made time on the training pitch to support me,” Hall told a press conference at the England national team.
There, he also spoke about Thomas Tuchel, the coach who made his debut at Chelsea.
“When I met him during my time at Chelsea, I obviously wasn't in the first team yet, but at one point I was training there quite regularly. He gave me the chance to make my debut, so I was obviously very grateful for that, and it will be a memory I will cherish forever.

Now I'm a completely different person, a completely different player, so I don't necessarily attach too much importance to the past,” he added, according to abola.pt.
Lewis Hall has so far collected two games in the shirt of the England national team. He is quoted at 35 million euros on transfermarkt.com.
