Hubbard tells The Telegraph that his company Atlas, founded in 2011, is experiencing the best period in its history. “I answer calls all the time,” he boasts and reveals during the first week of the conflict in the Middle East, the number of requests for quotations increased tenfold.
The company's owner reveals that his clients include two high-ranking members of US President Donald Trump's cabinet. “One of them wrote to me recently: 'When will my shelter be ready?'” – he reports.
Hubbard opened his company's new office in Dubai in late February. Two days later, Iranian missiles fell on this city in the United Arab Emirates. The attacks on Dubai destroyed its image as a safe haven for the world's wealthy. Two local billionaires immediately called Atlas to ask for a quote for the shelter.
Hubbard's company produces hundreds of shelters each year at a factory in Sulfur Springs, Texas. Its offer is huge: from small prefabricated hideouts for PLN 20,000. hole. to extensive complexes worth approximately USD 5 million. These most expensive shelters are equipped with, among others: swimming pool, cinema, but also an armory and a shooting range.
Atlas has previously recorded large increases: after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and after the attack on Israel in 2023. “But now it's completely different. I have many friends and partners in the United Arab Emirates, and many Americans go there. Everyone thought they would never see bombs there. And now they are falling on their heads,” Hubbard tells The Telegraph.
His company earns on average about $2 million. per month on the sale of shelters, but the owner estimates that in March this amount may reach up to USD 50 million. He admits that in the current situation he does not need to advertise specifically.
Its shelters are built of reinforced steel, have armored doors and air purification systems. Although they are touted as resistant to nuclear war, Hubbard admits they are not indestructible.
