Inter has only 7 points ahead at the top of the standings
Inter come into this match on the back of a disappointing 0-1 defeat to city rivals AC Milan, which ended Chivu's side's good run in the Championship.
Before that, the Nerazzurri recorded a 0-0 draw against Como in the Coppa Italia and a 2-0 win against Genoa in Serie A. In the Champions League, however, Chivu's men suffered a surprising 1-2 defeat to Norwegians Bodø/Glimt at home and were knocked out of the competition.
On the other hand, Atalanta experienced a real nightmare in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, losing 1-6 to Bayern Munich. In their last two Serie A matches, the Bergamo players recorded a 2-2 draw with Udinese and a 1-2 defeat to Sassuolo.
