“Stubbornness! This is the biggest problem at Dinamo”

Mircea Rednic (63 years old), technician free of contract, made a brief analysis of the game provided by Dinamo, the team he was linked to both as a player (1983-1990) and as a coach (2006-2007, 2008-2009, 2015-2016, 2018-2019 and 2021-2022).

Mircea Rednic is of the opinion that Dinamo's main problem is the fact that the Bucharest forwards do not have numbers.

He blames the club's management for not moving sooner in bringing in a striker. George Pușcaș signed with the “dogs” at the end of February, but he is not ready with his physical training.

Mircea Rednic: “Dinamo's big problem is the lack of a striker”

“I don't want to make an analysis. The first objective was achieved, Dinamo entered the play-offs for the second year in a row. It is clear that the last matches did not turn out the way those there wanted. They also have an excuse, because some imported players were missing. The big problem is the lack of a striker.

I really don't understand why there is so much stubbornness on the part of the club… You have to realize when this team has very good possession, it is clear that there are no solutions for the attack and they walk the ball to the back, to the side. The players who are up front are not true forwards. Karamoko is not a true number 9 either.

This is my personal observation. I don't want anyone to take it as something negative. Goals are scored more by midfielders, defenders. Too bad, a sacrifice should have been made because you're up there. Dinamo is well organized now, Pușcaş also came, but we don't know what situation he is in. It may help. We'll see what happens.

Dinamo has a coach who has shown that he has feeling, who in difficult moments has produced results”, said Mircea Rednic, according to digisport.ro.

How Dinamo's forwards fared in this championship:

  • Alexandru Pop – 26 matches, 3 goals, one assist

  • Mamadou Karamoko – 23 games, 6 goals, one assist

  • George Pușcaș – has not yet made his debut at Dinamo

  • Stipe Perica – 16 matches, 2 goals, 2 assists (left Dinamo in the winter)

Zeljko Kopic's team will enter the play-off from 5th place, with 26 points. Next is the derby with Rapid, which will be played on Saturday, March 14, from 21:00.
