For the Ukrainian military, free and kosher dryers will purchase, the Ministry of Defense explained the difference

“The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved the updated technical specification for the daily field set of products. Now, in addition to ordinary ones, for the military, you can buy free and kosher dryers. This should improve the diet of military personnel in accordance with their religious needs,” the report said.

The department noted that the halal dryers are designed for the military who eat according to the rules of Islam, and the kosher – for the confessors of Judaism.

“In general, the dryers consist of three diets (breakfast, lunch, dinner). […] Depending on the type of drypack (ordinary, free or kosher), the assortment of the first dishes consists of borscht with beef meat or soups with pork meat, chicken, lamb or beef. Accordingly, the list of second dishes includes, in particular, a variety of cereals with pork, beef, lamb, chicken, etc., ”is indicated in the release.

The Ministry of Defense noted that the new technical specifications take into account not only religious standards, but also high requirements for the quality of products and their nutritional value, as well as packing in retorted packets for a long shelf life.

“In the near future, the Vriol State Operator’s procurement agency plans to declare a tender for the purchase of an additional batch of dryers, which should be included in the new technical specification, both rabbit and kosher,” the department announced.
