In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the carrier will pay the consumer almost 58 thousand rubles for the loss of part of the cargo. This was reported in the regional Office of Rospotrebnadzor.

In September 2024, the man entered into an agreement with the forwarder, individual entrepreneur L.A. Mukovnikova. contract for the transportation of 9 pieces of luggage with a total weight of 1912 kilograms from Neryungri to Nazarovo. The cost of the service was 204,435 rubles. However, upon receipt of the cargo, it turned out that 1 piece weighing 147.5 kilograms was missing.

“The search for the cargo did not produce results and, realizing that the cargo was irretrievably lost, the consumer sent a claim to the service provider demanding the return of part of the payment for the transportation of the lost item and compensation for the cost of the lost property,” the Department reported.

Since the “declared value” of the cargo under the contract was 100 rubles per kilogram, the carrier reimbursed only 14,750 rubles, and did not return the money for transportation services for the undelivered cargo.

Having disagreed with such compensation, the consumer contacted Rospotrebnadzor. The Department's specialists filed a lawsuit in defense of the rights of the victim.

The court recovered from the forwarder IP Mukovnikova L.A. almost 58 thousand rubles, of which:

  • freight charge – 15,760 rubles;
  • penalty – 12,608 rubles;
  • moral damage – 10,000 rubles;
  • fine – 19,184 rubles.

The decision has not yet entered into legal force.
