Dacia announced the name of the brand's newest model: “Inspired by the '80s, the name suggests strength, precision and impact”

Dacia has announced the name of its newest model, a crossover that should be launched this year. As with Bigster and Duster, the name of the new model also ends in -er. “It's a strong, easily recognizable name,” say the people from Dacia.

What Dacia says about the future model called Striker

“STRIKER: the name of the new Dacia crossover that redefines the rules

Striker is a strong name, easily recognizable by the “ER” ending, an established signature of the range.

Inspired by the 80s, the name suggests strength, precision and impact – like a decisive strike that changes the dynamics or redefines the rules of the game.

The “ER” ending, like the Duster, Jogger and Bigster models, naturally integrates it into the Dacia family. It's an easy name to pronounce, with a strong and memorable phonetic.

Derived from the universal expression “to strike / hit the target”, Striker embodies the challenge and reflects the ambition of the brand.

It is a resonant, imposing name that expresses the robustness of a versatile model, the ideal travel partner.
Like the design that will be unveiled on March 10, Striker conveys a positive and genuine energy.”

Two new models from Dacia in 2026

Dacia will launch two new models this year: a small electric car and a C-segment car, which will also have a combustion engine, but also a hybrid variant.

The head of the Renault group, Francois Prevost confirmed on February 19 that the C-class model from Dacia will be built at the Oyak Renault plant in Turkey. The publication Turkiye Today wrote that Dacia will produce a new SUV model at the Oyak plant in Bursa, after investments of 400 million euros.

Dacia sold nearly 700,000 cars worldwide last year, up 3% year-on-year, and the Sandero was the best-selling car in Europe. Sandero was also the best-selling model in the Dacia range: 290,000 cars.

Hybrids were the car category with the highest growth in the Dacia range, 122%, to 150,000 units.

The Renault brand on Wednesday presented a demonstration vehicle called the Bridger concept, an urban SUV model described by the company as both compact (4 meters long) and bold.

Renault's concept is the precursor to a production model that will be designed in India, and although the company has not yet confirmed when the model will be produced in series, it could be built at the Chennai (India) plant.
