In an interview with ABC News, Donald Trump said possible candidates had been identified to take control of Iran after Khamenei's death, confirmed by Tehran on Saturday, but they died in the campaign of joint US-Israeli attacks to decapitate the regime.

“The attack was so successful that we eliminated most of the candidates”said President Trump, quoted by Agerpres.

“It won't be any of those we were thinking of, because they're all dead. Even the second and third places are dead.”testified Donald Trump, who, in an intervention on Saturday, asked the Iranian people to take power on their own.

According to the state television Press TV, the commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Guards, General Mohamad Pakpur, the Secretary of the Defense Council, Ali Shamjani, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, General Abdorrahim Musavi, and the Minister of Defense of Iran, Aziz Nasirzadeh, died in the bombings on Saturday.

The president of Iran, Masud Pezeshkian, and Ali Larijani, the head of security and the new strongman of the Ayatollah regime, survived.
