“The Russians wanted to turn this winter into the destruction of Ukraine and Ukrainians. But Ukraine did not break. We preserved our energy system. Ukraine repelled a large number of just massive attacks this winter, when in one strike there were dozens of missiles, hundreds of Shahed,” Zelensky said.
He recalled that the Russians began this winter with a massive blow on December 6th, which became one of the biggest. Then the strike included more than seven hundred different targets, including more than fifty missiles. In total, during the winter, the Russian Federation launched more than seven hundred missiles, Zelensky said.
“No nation has ever gone through such trials. Ukrainians have overcome this too. I am grateful to everyone who protects and restores our energy sector: to all the workers of energy companies, to every repair and emergency crew, to the entire staff of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine – you are truly heroes. Of course, I want to thank every Ukrainian soldier: everyone who defends our skies, every air defense crew, Ukrainian aviation, mobile fire groups, all developers, manufacturers, operators interceptors,” Zelensky added.
According to him, the Russians are not going to stop with their strikes. “This is a fact. They are preparing new attacks on infrastructure. Intelligence provides relevant information,” he said.
