The University of Cluj won its place in the Super League play-off after the score victory with Oțelul Galati, 4-0. After the match, Cristi Munteanu, the president of the Galati team, spoke about the failure, about the accusations that appeared before the game and about the situation of the club.
Cluj University mathematically ensured its presence in the play-off after the categorical success in front of Oțelul Galați. Issouf Macalou, Jovo Lukic, Andrei Coubiș and Mouhamadou Drammeh scored for the “red caps”, who finish in the top six of the league with one stage left in the regular season.

The president of Galați reacted after the failure and after confirming the fact that the team will perform in the play-out.
“Before the game it was the fact that we are the team playing for FCSB. If you ask me, a mess that was written before the match with FCSB from Galati and after. These are the people who let me down badly.
Regarding tonight's game, we were outplayed in every department. We were overtaken by U Cluj, which was better than us in every chapter and without comment. But our boys are the same ones who collected 41 points. Unfortunately, Nuno Pedro, who is the key man in midfield, is also injured. I want to congratulate the players, less so in tonight's game. We have one game left and I want us to finish this season with 44 points in the regular season and, if you ask me, we're 15th in terms of budget in the league.”
Oțelul Galati will submit the file for the European cups
The Steel president also spoke about the licensing file for the European cups, but also about the club's financial situation:
“The European license is submitted from March 6 to 11. I have been waiting for tonight's game let's see what this thing includes as costs and we've thought and we're still thinking. But, I repeat, we are the team that made 41 points with a budget of 15th place.
Right now the team is two weeks behind on salaries, so we're on the chart from that point of view and we are more than likely on schedule with the League 1 license next season. That's why I said: we are not a team that can afford to have four more players on the bench, with salaries of at least 10,000 euros. We cannot compare ourselves with U Cluj, that is clear. I was looking at them today, starters were leaving, starters were coming in, we can't afford it.
We created expectations for the fans too, but we can't afford it. Congratulations guys, with this budget, we are fighting the “monsters” and I am convinced that we will win at home, because we are a force with the public. But we have to sell players to stay in the first league.
