Teodora Stoica, the daughter of Mihai Stoica, the president of the FCSB Board of Directors, was present at the protest in Bucharest that started following the revelations regarding the killing of a huge number of dogs in the Suraia shelter in Vrancea.

Teodora Stoica, an animal lover, joined the protest for their rights. The demonstration was symbolically called “Justice for Heidi”, after the story of a puppy that became a symbol for the suffering of animals in public shelters.

“Today I went to the protest. And I came home with a weight in my chest that I can't describe.

Because in Romania, too many dogs live and die without meaning to anyone. This country is a hell of stray dogs.

Too many are treated as problems to be eliminated.

Too many disappear without a trace. And all I can ask is: how did I get here?

A dog doesn't ask for much. Just safety. Just food. Just love. Things that we have every day and don't even notice.

Today is one of those days when I feel like holding the Wheel in my arms and not letting him go.

He is loved. Protected. Safe.

And others are shivering in cages, on the streets, in the cold, in hunger, in fear.

It breaks my heart to think that for some, life is just surviving until the next day. I still don't know what more I can do, I feel helpless.

But I know I don't want to be part of the indifference. If you feel even a little of this pain, don't remain a spectator. Don't turn your head. Don't get used to the idea that “that's the way it is”.

Because in a world where they are completely dependent on us, our indifference becomes their death sentence,” Teodora Stoica said on her Facebook page.

The protest in front of the Parliament took place yesterday, from 16:00 and was organized by several NGOs. A personality from the world of sports was also present at the event. It is about Ionuț Lupescu, the president of Dinamo Sports Club. He was photographed with a sign that read: “Stop euthanasia without medical reasons”

According to the latest information, approximately 15,000 dogs were euthanized in the Suraia shelter and were kept in unsanitary conditions, without food and under constant abuse. Protesters from Bucharest, but also from other Romanian cities, demanded that the authorities investigate more carefully the cases of abuse in shelters, transparency in the management of public funds for stray dogs, good conditions for animals in shelters and a sterilization program to stop euthanasia.

According to observatornews.ro, the legislation in force allows dogs to be euthanized after they have spent between 14 and 21 working days in shelters
