“A cross reaching to the sky of Barcelona,” the message says. This is the maximum height of the structure according to the plan – 172 m.
The press service published a video of the installation of the cross.
The press service notes that this is the highest point of the temple project, the construction of which lasted more than 100 years. The Catalan flag will be raised on the temple, symbolizing the completion of the tower and the absence of incidents, as well as the Vatican flag, since it is the tallest temple of the Catholic Church.
The Sagrada Família reaches its highest point following the placement of the upper arm of the cross of the tower of Jesus Christ. As is a tradition in construction, the Catalan flag is hoisted, indicating that the tower structure is complete and that there were no incidents, as… pic.twitter.com/CVtbZCCizX

Context
The first stone of the Sagrada Familia was laid in 1882, and the following year the architect Antonio Gaudi took up the project. He transformed the original project into a much more ambitious one. By the time of his unexpected death in 1926, only one of the planned 18 towers had been built.
In subsequent years, construction was managed by the Sagrada Familia Foundation and financed by donations from tourists, visitors and private donors.
