In the Krasnoyarsk “Roevoy Ruchey” Pallas's cat Boris began to “fatten”

In the Krasnoyarsk Flora and Fauna Park “Roev Ruchey” the Pallas's cat Boris began a process that in scientific circles is called “fattening”.
The press service of the park explained that the “fatification” of these animals begins around February. The body understands that the cold is subsiding and the heat is coming, so carrying half a centner of fluff and fat is inconvenient. The diet is gradually reduced and fasting days appear.
“By spring, the Pallas’s cat begins the rut – the breeding season, which comes around the end of January – February. Usually phlegmatic and imperturbable, Pallas cats begin to show vigorous activity. They begin to mark territory and vocalize. Hearing the voice of a Pallas cat is a great success. This is something guttural, deep and, as zoologists say, “characteristic,” the park said.
By summer, these wild cats lose interest in each other, and at the same time lose weight. The coat thins, the sides fall off, and the Pallas's cat again takes on the elegant contours of a wild steppe cat. And in August the animals again begin to prepare for the next season.
Experts added that with the arrival of warmth, Boris began to show something like optimism. He began to walk around the enclosure more often and is lying imposingly on one of the shelves.
