Krasnoyarsk residents have been complaining about Telegram slowdown for the second day

10 February 16:50

Users from the Krasnoyarsk Territory and other regions of Russia have been experiencing problems with the Telegram messenger for the second day. Failures began to occur from lunch on February 9 and continue to this day.

According to the website Downdetector, 10,739 complaints were registered over the past 24 hours, and the current intensity is about 840 reported problems per hour. The main complaints from users are related to the inability to download or send media files (photos and videos), as well as the general instability of the application. Some users cannot even send text messages.

There have been no official comments from Roskomnadzor or the Telegram administration yet. Director of the Safe Internet League Ekaterina Mizulina, answering the question of what was happening with the messenger, wrote in her channel “it’s not clear.” She noted that she also faces problems – one video can take 20 minutes to load.

Similar malfunctions Telegram has been observed periodically for several months now. Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy under the Federation Council, Artem Sheikin, reported that problems with downloading media and other problems may be associated with ongoing pressure on the messenger from Roskomnadzor. All because Telegram “does not comply with requirements aimed at preventing and suppressing the commission of crimes.”

Let’s add that today in the Russian messenger MAX all users were given the opportunity to create their own channels.
