A few days after the show “La Măruță” had its last edition after 18 years of broadcasting on ProTV, the presenter Cătălin Măruță published a short message and a photo on his Facebook account, conveying that the most important thing in life remains the family.

“In life we ​​run a lot after success, after applause, after “more”. But at the end of the day, peace comes from only one place: family. Success can lift you up, carry you away, but family is what keeps you whole. She is there when there is noise and when there is silence, when there is light and when it is hard. The rest are stages. The family remains”, wrote Cătălin Măruță.

The show “La Măruță” had its last edition on Friday after 18 years of broadcasting on ProTV. In the end, the presenter Cătălin Măruță had a message for the viewers and burst into tears while thanking them.

“The time has come. 18 years! You will see part of this team on the screen. The show's producer, Alina Tolontan, and I want to thank you and applaud you for your work. Let's thank you for being together for these 18 years,” said Cătălin Măruță at the end of the show.

“They say that a presenter doesn't know his viewers. I want to contradict you and say that I do,” the presenter said, and began to directly address loyal viewers of the show by name.

He broke down in tears as he delivered his final message.

“Today is not just the end of a show. Today is the end of a ritual. If I could, I would call each of you by name. But I just want to say this. (no bursts into tears). Thank you! Thank you for letting me into your homes, you welcomed me as one of yours, and even if the La Măruță show ends, our friendship will not have an ending and thank you,” he concluded.

Pro TV abandons the show “La Măruță”

Pro TV announced, on January 12, the end of the format of the well-known show “La Măruţă” starting on February 6, 2026.

Pro TV conveyed, in a press release, that “the decision is part of a larger process of adapting the content strategy, aimed at responding to both the linear television audience and digital consumers, in the context of a media market in continuous evolution”.

“It's not a sad ending, it's an assumed ending. One that comes with gratitude. For everything that was and for everything that is to come,” Măruță wrote on Facebook before the last show on February 6.

The format of the show “La Măruță” is one of the longest running of the general television station.
