The Naples Court of Appeal ordered, on Tuesday, February 3, the handover of the Mocanu brothers to the Romanian authorities.

The Naples Court of Appeal on Tuesday ordered the handover to Romania of the brothers Dani and Nando Mocanu, sentenced to four years in prison and 7 years in prison, respectively, in November 2025, for attempted murder and disturbing public order and peace.
The decision is not final and comes on the day when in Romania the High Court of Cassation and Justice admitted, in principle, the discussion of the cassation appeal submitted by the two brothers.
The two will be brought under escort to Romania to serve their sentence.
In November 2025, Dani Mocanu received a 4-year sentence, while his brother, Ionuţ Nando Mocanu, has to serve a seven-year sentence.
The Mocanu brothers fled Romania before the sentencing was pronounced, being located in Italy, from where the Romanian authorities are trying to bring them back to the country.
The two are accused of beating a man with a crowbar in a gas station in the city of Pitesti in 2022. The aggression took place on the night of August 18 to 19, 2022, the police intervened on the spot following a call to 112.
