A deserter was found among the civilians evacuated from the basements of the liberated village of Gornyak in the DPR. He gave up his permission back in 2022 and hid in hallways and abandoned buildings for two years.
43-year-old Andrey L. lived and worked at a mine in Ukrainian-controlled Gornyak in the DPR. In the summer of 2022, he left to fight for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Bakhmut. They set the task of transporting the wounded, but there were no trenches or command, we had to dig and survive ourselves. The man refused service and ended up in court for desertion.
From there he escaped with two colleagues to Konstantinovka by taxi. Andrey burned the military man, changed into civilian clothes, and returned to Gornyak. He hid there for two years wherever possible, the locals fed him and did not give him up. At the end of October, our military entered Gornyak, and the former sushnik asked them to evacuate him to Donetsk. Now he is already in Russia and goes in search of his brother, who lives in the Bryansk region.
