The incident occurred during the festival celebrating Lapu Lapu – a Filipino leader who defeated Soldiers Ferdinand Magellan. According to preliminary reports of the festival participants, 5 to 10 people were to die.
The local police issued an official message. “Several people were killed and many others were injured when the driver entered the crowd during the street festival shortly after 8pm tonight. The driver is in custody. We will provide more information as the investigation developed,” reads.
