Inter are fighting confidently for the title of champion. After the 22nd stage, they are at the top of the table, five points ahead of their nearest rival, AC Milan. After the Italian Super Cup defeat, the Nerazzurri have won seven of their last nine games in all competitions.

Last weekend, Inter defeated Pisa (6-2). Despite a poor start, being 2-0 down in the 23rd minute, they managed to completely turn the tide and take the lead before the break.

Just a few days later, the Milan club strengthened their form with an away win in the Champions League against a caliber opponent, Borussia Dortmund (2-0). In this match, Inter looked more convincing and played much more confidently than against Pisa, avoiding any major defensive mistakes.

What Cristian Chivu said before tonight's game:

“The whole team has reached a level of maturity where hard work and humility are decisive no matter who we're up against. We can win or lose, but we must never lose our mentality.”

Cremonese have struggled of late, extending their winless streak to eight, five of which have ended in defeat. They are currently 14th in the standings, just six points away from the relegation zone. Last weekend, Cremonese failed to get a single point against Sassuolo (0-1), a team that had not tasted victory in seven previous games.
