The first wireless video cameras will appear on regional highways in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the first 50 wireless video recording cameras will be installed on regional highways, it was reported CRUDOR. Until the end of 2026 oThe equipment will be installed on the bypasses of Krasnoyarsk and Zheleznogorsk, the Krasnoyarsk-Elita, Krasnoyarsk-Yeniseisk, Krasnoyarsk-Zheleznogorsk highways and other sections.

The department recalled that the intelligent transport systems being implemented in the region since 2020 make it possible to build the most effective scenarios for managing the road complex, optimize traffic flows and increase the capacity of the road network. For example, the accident and emergency detection module automatically detects traffic jams, accidents, vehicle stops and foreign objects on the roadway. Thus, on the 8th km of the Krasnoyarsk – Kuznetsovo – Zykovo highway, a hare was recorded crossing the road in the wrong place.

It is noted that on routes equipped with such cameras, the time required to detect emergency situations, as well as the response time to them, has been significantly reduced. If earlier road workers could find out about them after a few hours, now the system records the incident within a minute, notifying the dispatcher, contractors and specialized services.

“We cannot fully equip all regional roads within the Krasnoyarsk agglomeration with such a system – for its operation you need a high-speed stable Internet connection, which is not available on all routes. Therefore, this season we will install cameras with autonomous analysis and processing of information, which transmit information about events to the system via an LTE wireless channel,” said Andrey Zhuravlev, head of KrUDor.

We would like to remind you that over the past three years, 221 vehicle detectors, 130 rotating dome cameras, 16 automatic road weather stations and thermokos, 32 dynamic information boards and variable information signs have been installed on highways near Krasnoyarsk.
