Former international great Adrian Mutu was surprised by the tactical level shown by FCSB with CFR Cluj and Dinamo Zagreb, in the two failures with 1-4 in the last week.
Mutu believes that the players of the red-blue team are too individualistic and no longer play as a team. The technician also spoke about a lack of synchronization between the Romanian champions.
Adrian Mutu: “I have never seen FCSB at such a weak tactical level”
“They're not in sync at all, they don't play as a team, they don't defend as a team, they try to solve situations themselves. And because they're not fit.
The mistakes stand out now. I'm surprised, I've never seen FCSB at such a weak tactical level as in this period. I don't understand how FCSB got to this situation, especially since they have the best players.
Only now are they starting to play with the greatest pressure. There is pressure not to miss the big goal, qualifying for the play-offs, and because of Becali's criticisms, which are harsher than ever. Maybe that's why the players are not like before”, said Adrian Mutu, at “Digi Sport Special”.
For FCSB, the match against Fenerbahce follows on Thursday, from 22:00, in the last stage of the single Europa League group. The Romanian champion still has a purely theoretical chance to qualify, the victory being mandatory to be able to move on. Gigi Becali, the boss of the red-blues, announced that he will put in more reserves, to rest the starters.
After the match with the Turks, FCSB returns to the Superliga, where it will begin the hellish race to qualify for the play-offs. The people from Bucharest are in 11th place, with 31 points in 23 stages played. The Romanian champion is 5 points from the 6th place, occupied by Oțelul.
