From over 10,000 kilometers away from Bucharest, Jaime Penedo supports the idea that a good defense can win you the championship. One of the most appreciated foreigners in the history of Dinamo, the goalkeeper from Panama confessed in an intervention for GSP.ro that he hopes for a supreme success of the “dogs” in this edition of the Super League.

Jaime Penedo performed in the red-white shirt between 2016-2018, after which he parted ways with Dinamo in January 2019. A moment that coincided with the retirement of the footballer's career. He remains his country's most capped international with 137 caps, peaking just at the end of his career when he was a full-back for Panama at the 2018 World Cup with Belgium, England and Tunisia.

Jaime was one of the starters of Dinamo's last team that fought with great odds to win the title. It happened in the 2016/2017 edition, with Cosmin Contra on the bench, the red-whites ending the season in 3rd place, 4 points behind the champion Viitorul. Bucharest won the League Cup that year.
“I remember that season when we had a really strong play-off run but were at a disadvantage. We finished 4 points behind the champions despite a better goal difference. That good team finish allowed us to win the League Cup at the time.
It would definitely be incredible to see Dinamo win the championship and it would make all the fans very happy. Which are awesome, to tell the truth. As a Dinamo fan, I would be extremely happy to see the team become champions.
I honestly, strongly believe that Dinamo can win the domestic league. OK, Craiova and Rapid seem solid and strong. But I think that if Dinamo maintains its current form, it can fight for the championship”, the Panamanian also declared.
