Criminal matchmakers caught in St. Petersburg
Three immigrants from neighboring countries found migrants who wanted to arrange a fictitious marriage for the sake of Russian citizenship. The cost of services was about 200 thousand rubles.
Since 2020, seven St. Petersburg women have agreed to arranged marriages with visitors. Each received from her beloved “spouse” from 30 to 100 thousand rubles.
Three organizers and four residents of St. Petersburg were detained, and a criminal case was initiated.
