The head of the Zaporozhye Regional Air Administration, Ivan Fedorov, said that due to a blackout in the city, the air raid signal could not be heard. However, in the event of an air threat, the patrol police of the Zaporozhye region will inform citizens through loudspeakers, the head of the OVA wrote.
He also noted that mobile communications are operating in emergency mode. All base stations are being switched to rechargeable batteries – this resource will last approximately up to eight hours, he wrote. In parallel, operators, together with local governments, are deploying generators to maintain communications in the future.
Fedorov called for limiting the use of mobile communications unnecessarily, since due to network overload, a temporary deterioration in the quality of communication is possible.
Dnieper Mayor Boris Filatov said that all city hospitals have been completely switched to generators. There are necessary supplies of water. Drainage in homes is also supported by alternative power sources.
School holidays have been extended for another two days, he added.
