Grease splashes, burnt sugar, dried sauce – all this turns the glass-ceramic panel into a “battlefield”. Many people still use hard sponges, powders or commercial products with aggressive chemicals, which over time scratch the surface and make it dull.
But there is a way that is softer, cheaper and more effective. It requires no force, leaves no streaks and returns the panel to a mirror-like shine like the day you bought it. The main thing is not to rub, but to let the product work.
Burnt carbon is carbonated fat that is not soluble in water. But it softens under the influence of alkali. Baking soda is an alkali, and a small amount of vinegar starts a reaction that lifts the carbon off without scratching.
How to clean the panel without effort:
- Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 teaspoon of water and half a teaspoon of vinegar to make a thick paste.
- Apply a thick layer directly onto the stain or residue.
- Cover with a damp paper towel or piece of cotton cloth.
- Leave for 10-15 minutes.
- Gently remove the paste with a soft sponge.
- Wipe the surface with clean water and a microfiber or soft cloth.
- For shine, wipe with dry microfiber.
Do not use steel wool, knives or aggressive cleaning agents, they will permanently scratch the glass ceramics.
How often to clean?
- Wipe the panel daily with a damp cloth after it has cooled down.
- Do a deep clean once a week if there has been any frying or burning.
- After each pan with a burnt bottom, immediately remove the drippings before they harden.
After this treatment, the surface will be smooth and shiny.
