Hermannstadt announced via social media the termination of the central defender's contract Vahid Selimovic (28 years old).
The player from Luxembourg had been out of the plans of the Sibiu since stage number 15 of the current edition of the championship.
Daniel Niculae has sent since November that the Sibiu team no longer counts on Vahid Selimovic, former coach Marius Măldărășanu said that there is no such problem, but the defender was not used anymore. The coach has changed, and now the official confirmation has come on the social media pages.

“AFC Hermannstadt and Luxembourg centre-back Vahid Selimovic have reached an amicable agreement regarding the termination of the current contract. Good luck in your career, Vaha!”, the Sibians said in an official statement on social media.
Daniel Niculae reported on November 19 that the defender is no longer part of the Sibiu team's plans. “We no longer count on Selimovic, we have conveyed the decision to the club and we hope to reach an agreement for an amicable termination.”
The centre-back was accused of two major blunders in the course of two stages. In stage #13, with Csikszereda, the center back made a bad defensive mistake and Eppel scored. The second mistake came in stage #15, with Oțelul Galati, a game that was the very last match played in the Superliga. In that game he received a red card in the 11th minute after headbutting Iacob.
Vahid Selimovic arrived at Hermannstadt in 2024. Since then he has played 36 matches in the shirt of the Sibiu team. It is quoted by specialized websites at 350,000 euros. He also played at Metz, Apollon Limassol, OFI Creta, ND Gorica and Zeljeznicar. He has the most matches in his career for the Sibiu.
