Radu Drăgușin (23 years old) has not played for Tottenham for about a year, after cruciate ligament rupture suffered at the end of January 2025.

The Romanian international was on the bench in Spurs' last Premier League game, a 2-1 draw with Liverpool, and is hoping to finally get his chance to return to action in an official game possibly on Sunday against Crystal Palace.

Tottenham want a left-back or a left-center

But his situation with the Londoners, with whom he has 4 and a half years left on his contract, seems to be getting complicated. The Sun tabloid has just revealed that Tottenham chiefs have decided to spend £150 million, around €172 million, to sign three players, including a defender.

Due to Destiny Udogie's repeated health problems, manager Thomas Frank wants a left-back in his position or a left-centre-back to use Micky van de Ven at left-back, as he is doing for the Netherlands.

“With Ben Davies, 32, barely back, Frank deployed right-footed Djed Spence on the left, but Tottenham looked even more off-balance,” writes The Sun.

The Romanian international can also play centre-leftwho also replaced Van de Ven in the first part of last season, when he was injured or when Ange Postecoglou had the Dutchman play at left-back.

The big Italian clubs lined up at Radu Drăgușin's door

Drăgușin's situation is complicated anyway, having Romero and Danso in front of him, as right-centers, and to catch the play-off for qualification to the 2026 World Cup, with the Romanian national team, he must play regularly to be taken into account by the selector Mircea Lucescu. The match with Turkey is scheduled for March 26.

The solution appears to be a return, possibly on loan, to Serie A. Inter, Roma, Napoli, Juventus and Fiorentina have already shown interest, but the Viola have already been turned down by Tottenham.

Florin Manea: “Italy would be the best. We will decide together”

Yesterday, Radu Drăgușin's manager, Florin Manea, spoke to Digi Sport about his situation: “There would be offers, there is interest. There are also from England, but it's a smaller club than Tottenham, so Italy would be the best. You can go to a bigger club. I haven't talked about him with Cristi Chivu, but I know that in the summer they are looking for central defenders. We will decide together.

If he wants to have more matches by the summer, we will announce that we are available, then Cristi could also call me. Radu still has 4 and a half years with Tottenham, but this injury kept him away from football for 11 months, so you can't stay out for another 7 months. You have to play until the summer”
