Russian President Vladimir Putin presented the “Gold Star” of the Hero of the Country to Mikhail Lavrentyev, a native of the village of Dorozhny in the Kansky District of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The ceremony took place in the Kremlin, writes Kanskie Vedomosti.
The hero’s mother, Pelageya Mikhailovna, said that her son had wanted to serve in the airborne forces since childhood. First, he completed his military service in an automobile battalion, and then signed a contract. Mikhail served in a motorized rifle company and took part in the return of Crimea in 2014. In 2015, he achieved his goal and became a paratrooper.
In his native village, Mikhail is known as the eighth child in a large family. His family speaks of him as a kind and caring person. Now he continues to serve in the special military operation zone, where he has already been awarded other awards. The hero plans to celebrate the New Year holidays at home, in Dorozhny.
