Neymar (33 years old), the star of Santos, is only thinking about the World Championship in 2026. Carlo Ancelotti (66 years old), the coach of Brazil, recently explained that he does not know if he will call him to this final tournament, but recent developments are encouraging for the former Barcelona and PSG player.

He played injured in the last matches in Brazil and contributed a lot to saving Santos from relegation.

Neymar admits: “The World Cup will belong to Brazil!”

The Brazilian international has not worn the national team shirt since October 2023, but hopes for a restart. Neymar is targeting the 2026 World Cup and has sent a direct message to coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The 33-year-old star had surgery on his left knee after playing injured for Santos in their relegation battle. He says that the dream of returning to the national team remains strong.

Invited to an event by the Brazilian singer Thiaguinho, Neymar went on stage and spoke in front of the audience.

“I want to tell you that we're going to do everything to bring the World Cup to Brazil, okay?” the striker said, sparking a reaction from fans. “The possible is the impossible and in July you can hold me accountable“, he continued, then relayed a message for the selector. “Hello Ancelotti, help us”, said Neymar, smiling, according to abola.pt.

The return to Santos has been marred by injuries and physical problems, but the end-of-season numbers remain solid. Neymar has amassed 28 appearances, with 11 goals and 4 assists in 2,000 minutes.

Following his solid performances, Neymar is set to be selected by Carlo Ancelotti in Brazil's squad for the 2026 World Cup. It will be the player's last chance to win the world title, which his country has not won since 2002.
