Petre Grosu (70 years old), former player at Rapid and Sportul Studențesc, Romania's top scorer in the 1981-1982 season, is in a delicate situation: the former footballer is sick with diabetes, needs a knee prosthesis, and his income is not enough.

Two years ago Gino Iorgulescu jumped to his aid with a sum of money, now Mircea Sandu, the former president of the FRF, also donated an amount to help the former footballer through the action opened by the Bucharest Student Sport Supporters Association. The association has opened a bank account through which people can contribute.

“Gino's help is real, an extraordinary man and colleague, I thank him as well. Mircea Sandu, who also had serious health problems, got involved and I thank him.

For me, Sport was a launching pad and I had colleagues of great character, it's a shame that in one of the seasons we lost the title of champions. We were close, if Rîca Răducanu hadn't made a mistake in that famous phase when he scored an own goal. But that's life,” Petre Grosu said, according to prosport.ro.
