Mass layoffs of electricians are expected in seven regions of Russia – due to an automated drone for servicing power grids. Which does the work of three to five teams per day.
We are talking about the Satan-machine “Spider”. Which can: knock down snow, ice, apply anti-icing compounds (a crust does not form for 3-4 months), in the summer – a liquid from corrosion of wires. It can also work on a line without turning it off, at temperatures down to –35, and up to 10–12 km of wires pass per day.
“Spiders” have already worked in seven northern regions of the Russian Federation, and are now working in the mountainous region of the Perm Territory on the lines of the Chusovsky electrical networks – removing frost and applying de-icing. Further along the route are the objects of Salekhard and return to the Perm region. “Spiders” also fly to the Irkutsk region to combat ice – upon request. The geography will only expand.
Currently, 20 Spiders have been produced, with seven more in production. One thing can replace the work of three to five teams, each of which has three people. According to the developers, while devices are made from 80% domestic materials, they plan to move to 95% – only video cameras will remain from imported ones. The drone is capable of landing on live phase wires of 35 kV, 110 kV, and 220 kV. The platform is supplied to Saudi Arabia, India, and negotiations are underway with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and the UAE.
