Dragoș Militaru (35 years old) is the new coach of Unirea Alba Iulia, a team that occupies the first position in League 3.

Dragoș Militaru was free of contract, after the last time he trained in Denmark, at Vejle, where he performed the role of assistant until February.

Militaru's contract with Alba Iulia is valid until 2027, and the team wants promotion this season. The technician also coached at Luceafărul Oradea, Dej union and Chindia Târgoviște.

CSM Unirea Alba Iulia announces the appointment of Dragoș Militaru as the head coach of the senior team.

At the age of 35, Dragoș Militaru returns to Alba Iulia, the club for which he played as a player in the 2011-2012 season, in League 2. As a coach, he is a young, ambitious technician with accumulated experience both in Romanian football and abroad.

Coaching career:

  • head coach at Unirea Dej, with whom he succeeded in promotion to League 2 in 2021

  • head coach at Luceafărul Oradea and Chindia Târgoviște

  • second coach at Pandurii Târgu Jiu, Dunărea Călărași, Unirea Jucu

  • second coach at the Danish club Vejle BK (along with Mihai Teja)

As a player, he played as a defensive midfielder in teams such as Unirea Alba Iulia, Pandurii Târgu Jiu, Damila Măciuca, but also in the first league in Latvia, at FC Daugava.

Dragoș Militaru signed a contract valid until June 2027. The technical staff that will accompany him will be announced in the following period. The objective of the team is promotion in the 2nd League.
