As follows from the indictment, in January 2024, a single mother of three children posted an ad on a Krasnoyarsk TV channel: “I will help with solving family problems.” On the same day, a victim who was experiencing a crisis in her marriage and was desperately trying to save her family responded to the advertisement.
When they called, the attacker said that the married couple was suffering from “damage and a quarrel.” To begin with, she offered to do a tarot reading for 500 rubles, then “diagnostics” and “cleaning the aura,” and then paid rituals followed for “removing damage,” “cleansing the karma of a spouse,” “unifying destinies,” for which the Krasnoyarsk woman placed water, salt and sugar on the windowsill, strictly following the instructions.
“She didn’t tell anyone about the sacraments, because it was impossible to initiate strangers. There was no result, but the swindler convinced that it was necessary to “clean up”, “consolidate” and “strengthen” the ritual, each time demanding money. Over six months, the victim made 31 transfers totaling 604 thousand rubles. The salary was not enough and she took out a loan, hoping that the following ritual would finally save the marriage. As a result, it was not possible to save the family; the woman realized that her trust had been abused and stopped communicating,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The attacker only partially admitted guilt – she calls herself a “hereditary shaman” from the age of 20 and claims that she was trained by her great-grandmother, “works only for the benefit of people” and allegedly does not use “black magic.” The prosecutor confirmed charges of fraud on a large scale (Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The criminal case will be considered by the Sovetsky District Court of Krasnoyarsk. The woman can be punished a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles, or either forced labor or imprisonment for a term of up to 6 years with obligation to compensate for material damage caused.
