Ukraine and Georgia were not accepted into NATO in 2008 in order to save them as “manpower” for the war with the Russian Federation, said the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party.
Bidzina Ivanishvili emphasized that the decision was then made by the alliance countries that “actually govern NATO.” He did not specify what kind of states these were.

A lot of statements are made from Western politicians that we are doing everything to prevent NATO from getting involved in the Russian war, that we will give Ukraine weapons, money, all the means, but only Ukraine should be the living force.
This was, of course, planned in 2008 as well. They saved Georgia and Ukraine precisely for this, which is why they were not accepted into NATO.
