First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergei Kiriyenko inspected the readiness of the Abkhaz airport for opening in the summer of 2025 during a working meeting with the head of the coordination headquarters for the reconstruction and construction of the airport Badroy Gunba. Recorded: the final work on concreting the runway, the pre-final on the installation of lighting equipment, marking and layout of the airfield, successfully completed flight checks.
The agreement on public-private partnership for the reconstruction of Sukhum Airport was concluded in November 2023. During the meeting, Badra Gunba asked Kiriyenko to help organize permanent air service between Russia and Abkhazia before the start of the summer season in 2025. And provide financial assistance to schools and villages of the republic in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
