Figures showing the intensity of fighting in the Donetsk region. Huge losses among the Russian forces

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems (SBS) forces announced that they killed 976 Russian soldiers, the equivalent of two battalions, in just two days in the Donetsk region. The figures were reported by the commander of the Ukrainian military's drone branch, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, in social media posts.

Most of the losses were suffered by the Russians in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, where Russian forces have been trying for months to capture the rest of the territory under Ukrainian control.

Brovdi revealed that the drone units of the unmanned systems forces killed approximately 505 Russian infantrymen on December 11 alone.

In addition to the branch dedicated to drone forces, the Ukrainian army and special services have their own drone units. The commander of the drone force stated that these losses were caused only by external pilots of the SBS and did not include the figures of other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

He added that the SBS's Phoenix unit alone caused 109 of the Russian casualties that day.

The previous day, on December 10, pilots in the drone branch hit another 471 Russian infantrymen, a figure corresponding to the combat strength of a battalion.

Militarnyi notes that the combined losses in the two days are the equivalent of two battalions, and that's just from the SBS operations.

Russian airborne division, the most affected

The Russian Guard's 76th Air Assault Division, relocated to the Donetsk region, reportedly suffered the heaviest losses from Ukrainian drone strikes, according to SBS Commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi. The Russian forces concentrated in this sector also attempted a mechanized attack near Pokrovsk.

On 10 December, Ukrainian troops repulsed a Russian mechanized assault led by the 76th Division. The attack began in the morning, with Russian troops attempting to take advantage of poor weather conditions to advance towards Pokrovsk. Mechanized columns advanced from the south to the northern outskirts of the city, but were met by Ukrainian troops there, who destroyed most of the Russian equipment and troops.

According to Brovdi, SBS data shows an average of 282 Russian soldiers hit per day in November, with the number rising to 395 per day in the first 11 days of December. He emphasized that the elimination of Russian troops is now a priority task for the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
