Ukraine's navy has accused Russia of deliberately attacking a Turkish civilian ship with a drone on Saturday, a day after Moscow struck two Ukrainian ports. The ship was transporting sunflower oil to Egypt, Reuters reports, according to News.ro.

In a statement posted on Telegram, the Ukrainian Navy specified that the ship is called Viva and had 11 Turkish citizens on board. He added that no one was injured and that the ship can continue its journey to Egypt.

“The attack was carried out offshore, in Ukraine's exclusive economic zone, outside the range of Ukrainian air defense systems,” the statement said, accusing Russia of violating maritime laws.

The Navy said it was in contact with the ship's captain.

On Friday, Russia attacked two Ukrainian ports, damaging three Turkish ships, according to the Ukrainian navy. A major fire broke out on one of these ships.

The attacks came after Moscow threatened to “cut off Ukraine from the sea” following Kiev's attacks that damaged three “ghost fleet” oil tankers heading to Russia to export its oil.
