Cristian Lopez (36 years old), former striker of CFR Cluj, officially announced his retirement from professional football. The Spaniard made the announcement public on Instagram, where he posted a photo of himself and all the shirts worn throughout his career.
The club from Gruia reacted immediately and sent him a message of gratitude on social networks.

One of the most beloved strikers to play for our team, Cristian Lopez, announced his retirement from football today!
Although he played only one season in Gruia, in which he scored 16 times, Cristian impressed with his performances and professionalism and will always remain in the hearts of all CFristians.
Together with our team, he won the Romanian Cup in 2016, the final in which he scored the equalizing goal in the 89th minute and sent the match into overtime, where he managed to convert his penalty.

Cristian Lopez at CFR Cluj
The Iberian forward spent only one full season at CFR Cluj, where he performed both in the regular and play-out seasons, as well as in the first six games of the following season. In total, he amassed 51 appearances and 18 goals in all competitions.
In 2016, he was transferred from Lens for €500,000 and in France he continued his excellent form, scoring 35 goals in 73 appearances in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2.
