Daniele De Rossi (42), the coach of Genoa, spoke about Cristi Chivu before the match with Inter from the 15th stage of Serie A, scheduled for Sunday, from 19:00.

De Rossi, the technician of Dan Șucu's team, remembered that he was a colleague of Chivu between 2003 and 2007, until the Romanian transferred from Rome to Inter.

Daniele de Rossi: “We were very young when we played with Chivu”

“How does it feel to see Chivu on the opponents' bench? We were very young when we played together. On the field, I always had something to say, both tactically and spiritually. Cristian is a very intelligent guy. His victories make me happy, obviously not on Sunday night. He deserves the success and positive reviews he is getting. It is an advantage to have someone like Cristian”.

About the match with Inter: “We will face a very strong team. If you don't play perfectly against Inter, you risk being humiliated. They scored many goals against Como. They will be furious because they didn't deserve to lose against Liverpool, and that happened because of an unfortunate episode.

We lost to lower ranked teams and beat stronger teams. Every game is winnable and can be played in a way that can give us a magical night and if we make mistakes it will be my responsibility.

Before the direct match, De Rossi remembered that he was a colleague of Cristi Chivu:

Daniele de Rossi and Cristi Chivu were colleagues at AS Roma

De Rossi also spoke about his relationship with his students at Genoa: “I was hoping to get inside the players' minds. Too often there's too much emphasis on tactics, but that only matters when you have a lot of time to work with it.

The desire they showed was incredible. Getting inside the minds of the players is important in any league and at any position in the standings. A player who is not motivated does not perform”.
