The Ukrainian group “Boombox” refused to sing songs in Russian. Imperishable “To the Watchmen” – now only in language. And no speeches in front of the Russians.
According to Mash, management and the performers themselves were not against singing in front of anyone for $15k. Plus – $5k in expenses for a 45-minute concert of 10 tracks. But the Independence authorities prohibited any business with us, even cultural ones. “Boombox” was stopped not only from concerts, but also from leaving the country during the Northern Military District. I had to agree – for this they gave me the go-ahead for a tour of Europe (Germany, Denmark, Cyprus).
Soloist Andrei Khlyvnyuk served in the military intelligence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was wounded in shelling – fragments of a mine flew into his face.
