The natural gas supply was interrupted on Tuesday evening in several streets in Sector 1 of the Capital, after a failure occurred at a branch of the network. Almost 500 domestic and non-domestic consumers were left without gas, Distrigaz Sud Rețele announces.

The incident took place at the intersection of Banu Antonache Street and Calea Floreasca, on Tuesday, December 9, at 10:03 p.m. For safety, the gas supply was immediately stopped for customers in the area.
As a result of this unplanned interruption, 499 domestic and non-domestic customers located on Constantin Aricescu, George Călinescu, Nicolae Constantinescu, General Aviator Popovici Andrei, Aviator Ștefan Protopopescu streets, in Sector 1 of Bucharest, are affected, according to the official release sent by the company.
The technical teams of Distrigaz intervened in the field already during the night to fix the fault.
When the gas comes back on
The company says power will be restored around 6 p.m. Wednesday if the work goes according to plan.
After the gas has been restarted, Distrigaz recommends that, if they smell gas, they:
– call emergency numbers: 0219281, 0319031 or 0800877778,
– ventilate the room immediately,
– avoid any source of sparks,
– do not use electrical switches,
– do not use electrical appliances,
– close the supply valve, if possible.
