“We will enter the play-offs and fight for the title”

David Miculescu, the right winger of FCSB, spoke about the goals of his team in 2026. The footballer also analyzed the bad pass of the team he plays for.
FCSB is currently in 10th place in the Superliga, three points away from 6th place, the last one that ensures presence in the play-offs. FCSB's offensive player believes that if his team manages to meet the intermediate goal of entering the play-offs, they have a solid chance at the title. FCSB is currently 14 points behind leaders Rapid.
VIDEO. David Miculescu has big ambitions in 2026: “We hope that in 2026 we will emerge as champions”
“The concept of 2025 was good. We managed to be champions, we also went very well in the Europa League. On a personal level it was good because I managed to become champion for the second time. At the end of the year it is not as good. We have to win a few games to enter the play-offs. In the Europa League we don't have points like we had last season. We hope that in 2026 we will emerge as champions.
I don't have a concrete explanation. Every year we want to start as well as possible, to win, to make our job easier for the play-offs. Unfortunately, at the end of this year we didn't manage to be up there, but I say we will come back. We will enter the play-offs and even fight for the title.
It's normal to collect prizes. We had a good start to the year, we were champions, we had a good run in the Europa League. If we have half a good year and half a bad year, it means that we will start the new year well. I didn't talk much with Mr. Becali. He just asked me if I can play in this European match.
And I say, just like him, that we will win the championship. I trust my colleagues and the team. We're in a bad spot now, but we can get out. The winter season is coming. We each go home to our families. We will be back and I think we will start well. We want to be in the play-offs, and if we enter, we will fight for the title.
We will go to the camp and work out all the details. At the beginning of the season, some of us also went to the national teams, and in the training camp in Holland we didn't get much training. We were there for 5.6 days, and then we returned to the country for the Super Cup.
We never parted ways. We take the game in Europe very seriously. We want to get three points. We take it step by step. I don't want to call this period a crisis because I don't want to put pressure on us. We will have the European match on Thursday, then two very important matches in the championship with Slobozia and Rapid. If we end the year with three wins, or at least two, the ones in the championship, which are more important now, we are happy.
It is a rivalry with Dinamo, but they did better in the beginning of the championship. I hope we will recover and at the end of the season be new champions. I would like us to enter the play-offs with UTA. We only focus on us. I hope that we enter, that we are up. I don't think we are a team to play in the play-outs. If I had to choose one moment from this year, it would be when I celebrated the championship.
